5 Potential 2016 NFL Free Agency Destinations for RB Matt Forte

Matt Forte is set to hit the 2016 NFL free agency market and there are five potential destinations for the veteran running back. Who are those five teams? Without further wait, let's dive in and take a look at which teams are ideal landing spots for Forte.

1. New England Patriots

Obviously the New England Patriots are known for targeting veterans who are searching for a chance to compete for a Super Bowl ring. That is exactly where Forte is and the Patriots would fit him perfectly. He is a dual-threat running back, which would fit perfectly into what the New England offense is all about and Tom Brady would thrive with a player like Forte in the backfield.

2. Houston Texans

Everything is seeming to look like the Texans will move on from Arian Foster this offseason. If that does end up happening, Houston will need a new running back. Forte could be a big pickup for the Texans and would definitely help their offense live up to the needs that they had this past season.

3. Seattle Seahawks

One very intriguing landing spot would be the Seattle Seahawks, who just saw Marshawn Lynch retire. Forte would be an excellent replacement for Seattle and would likely be interested in joining the Seahawks as well. Seattle could offer him a chance at a Super Bowl appearance and he would fit nicely alongside of Russell Wilson.

4. Washington Redskins

Surprised to see Washington mentioned as a possibility for Forte? Alfred Morris is on his way out of town this offseason and the Redskins know that they are a legitimate playoff contender after the 2015 season. Bringing a piece like Forte in wold be a huge step in the right direction and there is no question that the Redskins have the money to make a push for him should they choose to do so.

5. Dallas Cowboys

Jerry Jones knows that the Cowboys have to make a move or two this offseason in order to get back in the NFC title race. Forte would be a massive threat behind the dominant offensive line that Dallas has put together. Dallas has the money to make a move for Forte and it wouldn't be shocking to see them try to upgrade on Darren McFadden.
