Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy to Work with P90X Creator to Drop Weight for 2016 NFL Season?

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy will need to lose a lot of weight this offseason to get ready for the 2016 NFL season. According to recent reports, Lacy is prepared to work with P90X creator Tony Horton to drop the weight.

There were rumblings all season long that Lacy looked fat and out of shape. He denied those reports, but even head coach Mike McCarthy said very firmly that he needs to lose weight for next season. If Lacy does not come back in much better shape, there is a chance that the Packers could decide to go a different direction at the running back position.

Throughout the course of the 2015 season, Lacy ended up carrying the football 187 times for 758 yards and three touchdowns.

Lacy looked sluggish all season long and simply wasn't able to fit through creases that he needed. His weight was a big part of the reason that he couldn't make it happen and he'll have to come back around 15-20 pounds lighter in order to get back to star status.

It was obvious that Green Bay missed having a legitimate star running back behind Aaron Rodgers. McCarthy and company know that if Lacy can get back to his full potential, their offense will help get back to playing at full strength. He can certainly make Rodgers feel more comfortable, which is what the Packers are most interested in doing.

At 25 years old, there is still plenty of time for Lacy to get his career back on track and training with P90X would be a good way to help that cause.

Expect to hear plenty of news surrounding the Packers and Lacy this coming offseason. He is going to be looked at very closely this offseason and the media will be looking for updates on him throughout the offseason.
