Brandon Marshall to Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel: 'You Need to Get Your Life Together'

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall is obviously concerned about Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel. He told Manziel that he needs to "get his life together" or else he will ruin the special opportunity it is to play in the NFL.

Manziel has had many issues throughout his first two NFL seasons and the latest is the worst of them all. He reportedly went to Las Vegas on Saturday night and pretended like he was in Cleveland. The reports are saying that he wore a blonde wig and a mustache and told people that his name was Billy.

Marshall had a lot of issues early on in his career as well and had some harsh but true words for Manziel.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. This is a serious topic," Marshall said. "Well, first, you've got to forget about football, sir. You need to go get your life together. And to be quite frank, I don't think you get it. You don't understand. You're ruining a very, very special opportunity. It's an honor to be in the NFL. ... There is a thing out there called divine mentorship, where you can learn from others' mistakes. He has the opportunity to really sit back and reflect on his situation, look at others, and learn from it and be better."

No one could have said it better than Marshall. He knows exactly the struggles that Manziel is going through and it wouldn't be surprising if Marshall would be willing to mentor Manziel should the young quarterback ask him. That doesn't seem all that likely to happen, but it would be smart on his part.

There is no question that Manziel took a step forward during the 2015 season from an on-the-field perspective. He has improved his game, but he has to grasp the mental side of things off-the-field.

Throughout the 2015 season, Manziel ended up completing 57.8 percent of his pass attempts for 1,500 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He also picked up 230 yards on the ground. Those numbers came in just nine games, to show what kind of talent Manziel has when he does play.

Cleveland is beginning to think about parting ways with Manziel and getting away from the drama that he brings to the field.

Marshall is 100 percent right with his comments and hopefully Manziel sees them and realizes that he has an issue. There is no excuse for his actions and they need to stop if he wants to salvage his career.
