5 Bold Predictions for Carolina Panthers vs. Seattle Seahawks in NFC Divisional NFL Playoffs

The Carolina Panthers will host the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?

1. Cam Newton Totals at Least 350 Yards, Four Touchdowns

All season long, the Panthers have been led by Cam Newton and he has put up MVP numbers. He is widely expected to win the NFL MVP award this season and at this point in time it doesn't appear that there are any other players in consideration that could steal it from him. Newton will total at least 350 yards and four touchdowns this week, even against the Seahawks' star-studded defense.

2. Russell Wilson Bounces Back with a Big Game After Wild Card Struggles

During Seattle's 10-9 victory on the road in Minnesota, Russell Wilson struggled in a big way. That will come to an end this week against the Panthers and he will bounce back with a big game. Carolina has one of the top defenses in the NFL, but Wilson should be able to total around 300 yards and three touchdowns throughout the course of the game.

3. Carolina's Defense Sacks Wilson at Least Four Times

There is no question that these two defenses are going to be throwing pressure at the opposing quarterback all game long. Carolina has had an excellent pass rush all season long and will sack Russell Wilson at least four times. It won't be something that wins the game for them single-handedly, but it will certainly help the Panthers as they look to move on into the NFC Championship.

4. Richard Sherman Comes Through with an Interception

So far this season, Richard Sherman has been a quiet name and hasn't been talked about as he had been the previous two seasons. He is a very solid cornerback, but is no longer out in the media proclaiming himself to be the top corner in the NFL. Sherman will come out with a big game and will intercept Newton at least one time this week.

5. Carolina Comes Out and Knocks the Seahawks Out of the Playoffs

This game is going to be entertaining and should be a defensive battle. Both offenses are going to put up numbers, but they are also going to make mistakes throughout the course of the game. It should comedown to the defense that makes the winning plays in the fourth quarter and our money is on the Panthers being that team on Sunday afternoon.
