The New York Jets are set to face off against the New England Patriots in NFL Week 16 action. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?
1. Ryan Fitzpatrick Goes Off for 350 Yards, Four Touchdowns
One of the biggest surprises this season has been the star caliber play of Jets' quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. He has been solid throughout his career, but he has taken his game to a whole new level this season. Fitzpatrick will go off against the Patriots' defense this week and will put up at least 350 yards and four touchdowns on the afternoon to put his team in position for a huge divisional win.
2. Tom Brady Shreds Through the Jets Defense to Match Fitzpatrick
Neither quarterback is going to struggle this week and Tom Brady will shred through the New York secondary to match Fitzpatrick. He will throw for over 300 yards as well and will have a very good chance to finish the game with four touchdown passes. New York has a couple playmakers in their secondary, but Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and that will show.
3. Jets' Defense Records at Least Four Sacks
If the Jets are going to come away with a win, they have to put pressure on Brady. That is exactly what Todd Bowles will do throughout the entire game and it will result in at least four sacks. New York has the defense to take the Patriots out of their comfort zone and the pass rush will step up in a big way this week.
4. Rob Gronkowski Will Record at Least 125 Yards, Two Touchdowns
Finding a way to shut down Rob Gronkowski is nearly impossible and the Jets will not have any luck this week. New York will do their best to drape coverage all over him, but Brady is going to go to him early and often throughout the game. Gronkowski will record at least 125 yards and two touchdowns on the afternoon and will be the Patriots' top offensive playmaker.
5. New York Jets Pull Out a Huge Rivalry Victory
These two teams are going to be very competitive this week, but the Jets are going to pull out the rivalry victory at home. New England has shown some holes in recent weeks and New York will take advantage of them. It won't be an easy win and the game should be extremely entertaining, but our money is on the Jets pulling out the huge win.
