The Indianapolis Colts will host the Denver Broncos in NFL Week 9 action this week. What five bold predictions can be made about the game and what should fans be on the lookout for?
1. Peyton Manning Will Shred the Colts' Defense in His Return to Indy
As he showed last week in a beatdown of the Green Bay Packers, Peyton Manning is far from being done. He still has plenty of football left to play in his career and has his sights set on his former team this week. Manning is going to shred through the Colts' defense and will put up a big performance for the Broncos.
2. Andrew Luck Will Find Success Against the Tough Broncos' Defense
One of the big question marks for the Colts this week is whether or not Andrew Luck will be able to figure out how to move the football against Denver's defense. Aaron Rodgers only threw for 77 yards last week, but Luck will find more success than Rodgers did. He will put together a very solid game and will put his team in position to get a huge win on their home field against the quarterback that he replaced.
3. C.J. Anderson Will Have Another 100-Yard Rushing Game
Denver has seen running back C.J. Anderson struggle throughout the majority of the season so far, but he finally broke through with a big game against the Green Bay Packers last week. He will continue his breakout against the Colts this week. They have an improved run defense, but their attention will be on Manning which will give Anderson an opportunity.
4. Indianapolis Will Commit at Least Three Turnovers
Turnovers have been one of the biggest downfalls of the Colts this season and they will continue against Denver. Whether Luck throws interceptions or the team fumbles, there are going to be at least three turnovers for the Colts. That may not end up losing the game for them, but it is going to make things much more difficult.
5. Denver Pulls Out a Hard Fought Victory to Remain Undefeated
Peyton Manning will be victorious in his return to Indianapolis, but the Colts will put up a very hard fight. The Colts are much better than they have played this season, but turnovers have done them in during the close losses that they have had. That will happen once again this week and the Broncos will remain undefeated.
Overview
These two teams are both looking to make a statement, especially the Colts who are stuck with a losing record. Denver is starting to play to their full talent and should be able to carve out the win on the road. Expect this game to be very entertaining and to see both teams fight all the way to the final whistle.
