The New England Patriots will face off against the Washington Redskins in NFL Week 9 action this week. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?
1. Tom Brady Throws for at Least Four Touchdowns
So far this season Tom Brady has been one of the best players in the league and is without question an MVP candidate moving forward. New England is still undefeated and could very well be the best team in the NFL. Going up against a poor Washington secondary is a dream scenario for Brady and he will throw at least four touchdowns throughout the course of the game.
2. Kirk Cousins Throws Three Interceptions or More
Kirk Cousins got the starting nod over Robert Griffin III this year and simply hasn't played with the type of consistency that Jay Gruden and the Redskins were hoping for. He hasn't been awful, but he is very turnover prone. That will come into play this week against a sneakily good Patriots' defense and he will throw at least three interceptions if not more.
3. LeGarrette Blount Records 90+ Yards and a TD
New England hasn't been running the football with LeGarrette Blount as much as they were expected to this season, although that will change this week. Blount will record at least 90 yards and a touchdown this week against the Redskins. If you're a fantasy football owner, make sure to have Blount in your lineup this week.
4. Alfred Morris Gets Back on Track
It has been a long season for veteran running back Alfred Morris, who just recently was considered to be a star at the running back position. He has been unable to get anything going this week, but that will change against the Patriots. Morris will find a way to get things going and will come through with a big game and be one of the lone bright spots for the Redskins.
5. New England Stays Perfect and Blows Out Washington
Brady and the Patriots are without question capable of outscoring the Redskins by 40 this week. It isn't going to be a pretty game, but New England is going to come away keeping their perfect record. There is no question that the Patriots will come away with a win this week, but the question still remains by how much they will blow the Redskins out.
Overview
New England appears to be a Super Bowl favorite at this point in the season and there aren't many teams that have the type of offensive power that they have displayed. Washington has definitely taken a step in the right direction, but they still don't have a legitimate starting quarterback. Cousins isn't the answer for the Redskins and that will become apparent this week.
