The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans will face off in an AFC South rivalry game in NFL Week 16 action. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?
1. Zach Mettenberger Plays a Big Game in Place of Marcus Mariota
There is no question that Zach Mettenberger is an NFL caliber quarterback, but he just isn't better than rookie star Marcus Mariota. He will be the starter this week for the Titans due to the injury that Mariota is dealign with. Mettenberger will put up a big game against the Texans in place of Mariota and will prove that he could very well deserve some playing time elsewhere should a team trade for him.
2. J.J. Watt Will Record at Least Three Sacks
While Mettenberger is being predicted to have a big game, that doesn't mean that he won't take a beating as well. J.J. Watt is one of the best and most dominant defensive players that the NFL has seen in quite some time, which doesn't bode well for Mettenberger. Watt is going to record at least three sacks on the day and will make the Titans' offensive line look silly all afternoon long.
3. Dorial Green-Beckham Breaks Out for 100 Yards, Two Touchdowns
Mariota is the Titans' star rookie that is most talked about, but wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is also expected to be a huge piece for them long-term. He was the Titans' second round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and has been coming on strong recently. Green-Beckham will put up at least 100 yards and two touchdowns this week and will show some of the superstar potential that many saw in him.
4. Brian Hoyer Returns and Dominates the Titans' Secondary
At this point in time it appears that the Texans will get starting quarterback Brian Hoyer back from his concussion. He has begun practicing again and is feeling good, although he has not received 100 percent clearance yet. Hoyer will return to the field this week and will absolutely dominate the Titans' secondary to the tune of 300 or more yards and three touchdowns.
5. Tennesse Pulls Off a Surprise Upset Victory
While many are expecting the Texans to walk into Tennessee and blow the Titans out, our money is on the Titans pulling off the upset. Houston has a lot of pressure on their shoulders to win this week and not allow the Indianapolis Colts back into the AFC South race, while the Titans have no pressure at all. It should be a close game, but we'll go with the upset pick this week.
