Fantasy Football Week 14 Outlook: Ranking the Top Five Running Backs to Play

Taking a look at the Fantasy Football Week 14 outlook, there are quite a few running backs with good matchups. Ranking the top five running backs to play this week isn't easy, but we have your answers.

1. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

There is absolutely no way that we can justify playing another running back over Adrian Peterson at this point in the season. He has a tough matchup ahead against the Arizona Cardinals, but he will still put up good numbers. Peterson will likely come close to 100 yards with a chance of going over, but he is also likely to record at least one touchdown if not more.

2. Todd Gurley, St. Louis Rams

Obviously Todd Gurley has to be the second running back in these rankings, as the Rams are going up against a poor Detroit run defense. If Jeff Fisher and the Rams' coaching staff decide to give Gurley the football, he is going to put up big fantasy numbers. Seeing him run for 125 yards or more and a touchdown or two wouldn't be a surprise at all.

3. Thomas Rawls, Seattle Seahawks

This may be a surprise to some fantasy owners, although those that have seen Thomas Rawls work throughout the season will agree. Baltimore's run defense is bad to say the least and Rawls is going to be fed the football early and often throughout the game. Seattle has one of the best offensive lines in the game and that will help power Rawls to a huge fantasy week.

4. LeSean McCoy, Buffalo Bills

If you need any motivation to put LeSean McCoy in your lineup, think about how angry he is heading into a game against his former team. Chip Kelly treated him terribly by trading him and the way that he traded him, which has motivated McCoy to come back and destroy his former team. Buffalo is going to give McCoy that chance and fantasy owners should expect monstrous numbers from him this week.

5. Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers

Due to all of the struggles that Eddie Lacy has had this season, there are quite a few fantasy owners that don't want to play him. Despite the struggles that he has had, Lacy is still going to come through with a huge game this week against the Dallas defense. If you have him on your roster, make sure to plug him into the lineup and trust that he will get you numbers.
