‘True Detective’ Season 2: ‘True Blood’ Ashley Hinshaw Cast after Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson Golden Globes Nomination [VIDEO UPDATE]

While at least one of the leading cast members from HBO's first season of acclaimed new crime drama, True Detective, seem a shoo-in to walk away with tonight's Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Mini-Series, the producers aren't content to rest on Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson's laurels. According to the latest gossip news updates, True Blood Instagram hottie and Agent Carter actress, Ashley Hinshaw will be rounding out the all-star cast in Season 2. The over-the-top lineup already includes Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams as cops with comedic legend Vince Vaughn reportedly set to play a career criminal. If talent is any indicator, the True Detective cast will be at the Globes in 2016 as well as 2015.

Whether True Detective actors Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey win a Golden Globe or not tonight, the breakout HBO hit series isn't taking its foot off the gas heading into Season 2.

According to Deadline, showrunner Nic Pizzolatto is adding another name to they already star studded cast in True Blood alum, Ashley Hinshaw:

"Ashley Hinshaw has been tapped for an arc on the upcoming second season of HBO's True Detective, which revolves around three police officers (Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams) and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn) who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

"She'll play a troubled starlet."

As hard as it may be to believe, Pizzolatto recently told NME.com that after this season he will only do one more year of True Detective before he pulls the plug on the series for good:

"I can't imagine I would do this more than three years.

"I mean, I'd like to have a regular TV show.

"We'll have some fixed sets, regular actors and I could bring in people to help and I don't have to be there every second. It'd be great."

It sounds like Nic might be confusing a successful TV series with a car wash.
