‘True Detective’ Matthew McConaughey Quits ‘Magic Mike’ Sequel After Channing Tatum Takes Strippers on Tour? [VIDEO]

Nothing about Channing Tatum's Magic Mike XXL sequel has been confirmed as of yet, but word has it that not everyone is going to be returning for the second show. Although Channing Tatum has implied that everyone could be returning--and comedian Gabriel Iglesias and True Blood's Joe Manganiello have confirmed they're down--it's been suggested that True Blood serial killer killer Matthew McConaughey won't be making so much as a cameo. First it was reported that the Dazed and Confused weight loss phenomenon quit after gaining too much fame and fortune to consider reprising the role, but now rumors suggest that the new movie will revolve around a road tour, so Matthew's character and his bar just won't be needed.

It is hard to believe that after the success of Channing Tatum's first Magic Mike flick--which grossed $167 million on a $7 million budget--that any actor in Hollywood would be riding too high to want to get involved with the sequel, but such is said to be the case Matthew McConaughey.

According to fluffy funny-man Gabriel Iglesias, who spoke about the upcoming movie on The Dish, the Dallas Buyers Club skeleton doesn't need to debase himself by donning assless chaps ever again (via IndieWire):

"Word has it that Matt's probably not going to be involved, because he's worth a lot of money now--that whole Oscar thing--so, but yeah, I've signed on for part two."

Although, as Gabriel kind of confirm, if McConaughey doesn't show up in the sequel it will more likely have something to do with the plot lines and not his attitude (via VCPost):

"All they're telling me-because they haven't shown me the whole script yet-is that they're taking the show on the road...so something tells me it's not going to be shot in Florida like the last one."

The real question isn't why would anyone ever shoot a movie in Florida in the first place?

It's: why would anyone ever even want to watch a movie in Florida, let alone make anything gat all there?
