HBO ‘True Detective’ Season 2: Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn Cast in 2015? [VIDEO NEWS]

After Colin Farrell accidentally let it slip that he was going to be staring in Season 2 of HBO's hit new police series True Detective--originally staring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey--all the super-secret spoilers have started to leak. According to the gossip news updates, the critically acclaimed TV show has added Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch to the 2015 cast. There is still no word on if the Yellow King will be making a reappearance.

Leave it to a Hollywood outsider like Colin Farrell to break the news that HBO already has much of their True Detective Season 2 game plan in place.

During a recent interview with Sunday World News, after Colin spilled the beans about his involvement, he gave up all the behind the scenes information he had:

"I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.

"It's been shown time and time again how HBO have raised the bar regarding production values and fundamentally the writing that all their shows are based on."

The Today show seemingly obtained some sort of document from the network that explained more or less who's Colin charter was as well as another titanic name that has joined the franchise:

"Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have been tapped for HBO's True Detective.

"Farrell will star as Ray Velcoro, 'a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.'

"Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, 'a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.'"

Not to leave the ladies out--Variety has also named the 2015 season's likely female leads.

According to the entertainment publication the producers had a lot of talented young ladies in mind, but only a couple of parts for them to play:

"Rachel McAdams is said to be locking down a lead role in season 2 of HBO's True Detective.

"HBO has offered McAdams the part opposite Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. Taylor Kitsch is expected to land the role of the fourth lead."

Without a doubt, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson set an extremely high par for excellence with last year's Emmy winning season, but it seems that HBO should have no trouble producing some more amazing television considering the stable of super-talented, high-caliber actors and actresses they have assembled for the 2015 run.
