Broadway Bach Ensemble Performing Free Classical Concert On Sunday February 7

The Broadway Bach Ensemble will be putting on another free concert this Sunday, February 7. The no cost classical concert will feature music from Bach, Beethoven, Milhaud and Poulenc. The event will also feature special guest violinist Yaegy Park. Park got her start at the age of 4 when became the youngest member to every join the Houston Young Artist foundation. The Broadway Bach Ensemble’s Principal Conductor and music director Michael F. Tietz conducts the 50-piece orchestra of community chamber professionals.

    The next installation of Contact, a series produced by and featuring musicians from the New York Philharmonic, hits Brooklyn's National Sawdust tonight at 7:30 p.m. Having run through January, the reiteration for Feb. 1's engagement will include Esa-Pekka Salonen's own Floof, plus music by Salonen's mentors Donatoni and Castiglioni as well as Lutoslawski.

    As a classical guitarist, Miloš Karadaglić was reared in the strict and serious tradition of Bach, Segovia, and other classical guitar masters. But there's a branch of modern music in which he experiences similar challenges and just as rewarding of an experience. His latest project, Blackbird - The Beatles Album, released on January 15th, 2016, reflects his BBC claim: that "the Beatles are as important as Bach" when it comes to western music canon. In comparing the Beatles to Bach (whose lute suites are some of the most challenging works for modern guitar), Miloš assured the BBC that he was "never worried" his Beatles project would become "something light - because I'm not light, nor is the music."
