Daisy Ridley isn’t like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and she isn’t thing like any of you. Recently, the Star Wars: Force Awakens actress opened up about the comparison’s between her character Rey and the main characters from the original trilogy. She also opened up about how she isn’t really that big of Star Wars fan.
Recently, Daisy Ridley spoke to reporters about the comparisons between Rey and Luke, saying (via HitFix):”
“She's just her own person. So the journey, yes, that's like Luke. From humble beginnings and she has this crazy journey. But I never really thought like that and I'm glad that I didn't, because it didn't put my mind into a place that it shouldn't have been. I was just trying to do a good job as Rey. I mean Luke's story is amazing, so if people see those comparisons it's great, but I'm so happy just being Rey.”
As it turns out, despite virtually remaking a New Hope, Ridley doesn’t consider herself that big of a Star Wars fangirl:
“I wasn't really attached to any of them, honestly. I'm not really like a fangirl of anything. My favorite film is ‘Matilda,’ but it's not like if I saw Danny DeVito I'd go, ‘AHHHHHH! Oh my God!’”
