It's been nearly six-months since they called it quits last summer, but word has it that Charlize Theron and Sean Penn's relationship may not be over after all. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Mystic River Oscar winner and the South African beauty aren't dating again so much as hooking up here and there whenever their schedules allow. While they may not be officially back together for the time being, it's said that the formally engaged Hollywood hot couple do have plans to spend the holidays together - regardless of their official relationship status. If Lee Daniels gets his way for Christmas, however, he and Penn will never have to see each other again, as the Empire co-creator has asked once again that the Gunman's defamation lawsuit be thrown out.
It seems that Sean Penn and Charlize Theron might be secretly starting their new romance up again almost as suddenly as they ended things back in June.
One source in the latest December 14, issue of OK! Magazine explains that behind-the-scenes Sean and his Mad Max ex having been using one another in recent weeks to satisfy their sexual urges:
"It's about convenience...They're comfortable with one another.
"Their sex life was the glue keeping them together, [but] they want to keep it under the radar.
"Charlize realized that they weren't going to work long-term, but she does miss Sean."
While Penn may be on the way to working things out with his ex-girlfriend, he and Lee Daniels are still a long way from seeing eye-to-eye.
After failing to have Penn's $10 million defamation lawsuit moved to federal court, the Empire co-creator has petitioned to have the suit thrown out all together as an infringement on his civil liberties.
Although Daniels recently alleged that Sean Penn is known for his history of domestic violence in a recent interview defending his series' lead, Terrance Howard, Lee's lawyers argue that his statements should be protected by the First Amendment's guarantee to free speech (via Variety):
"He also contends that Penn failed to show he made the remarks with actual malice, the legal threshold for defamation when it comes to public figures.
"Accusations of misconduct have trailed Penn for decades...The challenged statement is constitutionally protected opinion."
What do you think about Sean Penn and Charlize Theron possibly getting back together?
Would it be nice to see those two get married after all?
Or, is it be best if they stay as far away from each other as possible until it's time to promote The Last Face together next year?
Let us hear what you have to say about it in the comment field below.
