Despite seemingly taking longer to address the rumors than he did when he was dating Charlize Theron, word has it that Sean Penn and Madonna are definitely dating. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Hollywood hot couple are engaged and planning their second wedding, despite already having gotten divorced once way back in 1989. Even more good news for the Mystic River Oscar winner is Empire's Lee Daniels' announcement that he will be withdrawing his petition to take Penn's $10 million defamation suit to federal court as well as paying the iconic actor's legal fees.
Although his daughter, Dylan, recently claimed that Sean Penn and Madonna are really just friends, the supermarket tabloids clearly beg to differ.
The supposed insider that the National Enquirer claims to have spoken to in their latest November 15, issue insists that Sean has even gone so far as to ask Madonna to marry him, despite the fact that they are not even officially dating:
"Their first go at matrimony was tempestuous, but no one can say they weren't passionate.
"They want to retie the knot. Madonna's ready to be Mrs. Penn again. It might be as soon as next year!"
According to the reported informant, Sean and Madge are hoping that this second wedding will hopefully bring their broods together, but their friends aren't so sure that the popstar is making the same mistakes all over again:
"Madonna and Sean are dreaming of a happily ever after marriage do-over, with a big blended family...[but] Everyone's concerned Sean's putting on a good face to win her back, but his recent dead-end relationship with Charlize Theron hasn't convinced anyone he's changed his ways."
While it's pretty hard to believe that Sean Penn could convince Madonna to give their marriage another shot, the Gunman star does seem to be making progress in his defamation suit against Empire co-creator Lee Daniels.
After trying to move the venue of the $10 million suit to Federal court, Lee's legal team acknowledge in a letter last week that they are instead prepared to face Penn in New York (via Deadline):
"Having considered the arguments and authorities raised in Penn's October 22, 2015 pre-motion letter requesting a remand and having diligently met and conferred, Daniels has agreed to withdraw his Notice of Removal, and to have this matter remanded to the Supreme Court of the State of New York."
The letter to the Federal court also made clear that Daniels fully planned to pay Penn's legal fees in lieu of the misunderstanding (via People):
"Further, the parties' resolution includes Daniels' payment of a confidential monetary amount to Penn consistent with the guiding principles."
What do you think about Sean Penn and Madonna getting married?
Is it a major mistake for Madge to even consider getting back into another tumultuous relationship with Penn?
