Looking head to Fantasy Football Week 12 action, finding a sleeper is incredibly important for owners. One potential sleeper to keep an eye on is Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief.
Why would fantasy owners look to start Moncrief this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with star quarterback Andrew Luck on the sideline? Quite simply, the reason is because Matt Hasselbeck has been a better quarterback than Luck this season and Moncrief has been one of Hasselbeck's favorite targets throughout the three starts that he has made.
Moncrief has caught 44 passes for 470 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers may not look too terribly impressive, but he has begun taking over more touches and targets than Andre Johnson has been getting.
Indianapolis is not going to shy away from the passing game without Luck on the field. Hasselbeck has shown the ability to make some big throws and has taken care of the football for the most part. T.Y. Hilton is still viewed as the teams No. 1 receiver, but Moncrief was a huge piece of the game plan last week.
Against the Atlanta Falcons on the road, Hasselbeck found Moncrief for five receptions that resulted in 41 yards. He didn't score a touchdown, but he was targeted eight times. That number of targets should be encouraging for any owner considering starting him.
Obviously Moncrief is not a WR1 option, but he would be perfect to plug into the WR2 or FLEX positions.
There are plenty of other receivers that should be valued above Moncrief, but he is a potential sleeper this week. If you have him on your roster or if he is in free agency, consider plugging him into your lineup and giving him a chance.
Expect to see him come through with a good seven receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown would be a safe bet. Don't be nervous about giving him a chance, as the Colts are going to continue utilizing him in a big way.
