Heading into NFL Week 11 action, the Houston Texans are set to host the New York Jets in a big conference game. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?
1. J.J. Watt Comes Through with at Least Three Sacks
One of the biggest reasons that the Texans are currently leading the AFC South division is the play of star defensive end J.J. Watt. He has been an absolute monster and will continue being just that in Week 11. Watt will record at least three sacks and will find plenty of other ways to disrupt the Jets' offense throughout the game.
2. Chris Ivory Rushes for 100+ Yards and Two Touchdowns
New York hasn't seen Chris Ivory put up the normal production that they have come to expect from him over the past few weeks, but he will get back to producing big numbers this week. Houston has a good defense, but they aren't amazing against the run. Ivory will rack up at least 100 yards and two touchdowns in the game and will be an absolute workhorse.
3. Houston Quarterbacks Throw at Least Three Interceptions
The quarterback position has become the most important position in the game and the Texans simply don't have any talent. Brian Hoyer isn't going to get the job done, T.J. Yates isn't going to get the job done and the newly signed Brandon Weeden definitely isn't going to get the job done. Houston's quarterbacks will throw at least three interceptions combined throughout the course of the game.
4. Brandon Marshall Totals at Least 90 Yards, Two Touchdowns
Throughout the course of the NFL season so far, New York has seen their aerial attack improve each and every week. Brandon Marshall has been a big part of their success and will total at least 90 yards and two touchdowns this week. Houston has no defensive backs who can cover him consistently, which bodes well for his chances to put up big numbers.
5. New York Comes Through with a Convincing Victory
Houston is going to give everything they have to defeat the Jets, but New York is going to get the win. Chris Ivory and company will be too much for the Texans to handle and they will get a big win and make it look convincing. Don't be surprised if the game is close heading to the second half, but the Jets will figure things out and put up big numbers later on in the game.
Overview
Expect to see these two teams battle to the end and for both of them to bring a little extra. The fight to get into the playoffs in the AFC is very tough, which makes these games mean a bit more. Both of these teams have the talent to win, but the Jets are simply a better all-around team.
