Leonard Fournette is one of the front-runners to win the Heisman Trophy award this season for being the best player in college football, but ESPN posted an impressive statistic for the LSU Tigers running back on Twitter.
LSU woudn't be nearly the dominant team that they were this season without this statistic that you're about to see from ESPN. It is amazing that he has put up these numbers throughout the season and is without question one of the best backs to play in the college game for quite some time.
That statistic gives us just a small idea of what kind of season Fournette is having. He has been in first place in the Heisman watch almost all season long and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. LSU is going to continue asking him to put up massive numbers, especially this week against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Fournette has carried the football 176 times for 1,352 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has put up consistent production each and every game and has done so against good defenses and poor defenses.
There is no question that Fournette will be playing on Sunday's in the very near future. He has one more year before leaving LSU, but after that will be a top-10 pick without question. LSU has a very good chance to make it into the second College Football Playoff this season, but will only go as far as Fournette is capable of taking them.
Les Miles hasn't had this type of a workhorse running back in quite some time. The presence of Fournette has given the LSU offense so many different ways to put up yardage, although the quarterback situation simply isn't good for the Tigers.
Expect to see Fournette continue putting up huge numbers throughout the remainder of the season and keep the records coming for LSU and the college football nation.
