After Jessica Simpson appeared to show up drunk for her appearance on the Home Shopping Network last month, all the supermarket tabloids seemed to call for the Dukes of Hazzard bombshell to go to rehab before it was too late. According to the latest gossip news updates, Daisy Duke's family is just as concerned that Jessica needs professional help. Word has it that her husband, Eric Johnson, has even threatened to keep her away from their kids if she can't soon clean up her act. Apparently, the former pro footballer isn't the only one issuing threats, however, as Jessica supposedly just let her parents, Joe and Tina, know that if they continue to support Eric's rehab recommendation, she will straight up fire them.
After Jessica Simpson showed up to the Home Shopping Network appearing very much under the influence, her husband, Eric Johnson, supposedly put his foot down -- demanding the fashion mogul either go to rehab or risk losing her kids.
A supposed insider told Radar Online, that in addition to her behavior embarrassing the whole family, Eric is worried that Jessica's drinking might ultimately have a detrimental effect on their kids, Maxwell and Ace (via InTouch):
"She's taking Adderall and anti-anxiety pills. And on top of that, she drinks...Things reached a climax in early May, when Eric told Jess he has had enough and issued his ultimatum.
"He is worried sick that Jess' conduct is going to start affecting their two children and that their oldest is starting to realize there's something wrong with mommy."
It been rumored that as Eric applied pressure from one angle, Jessica's mom and dad were doing their best to push her towards rehab from their end as well.
Not one to be tag-teamed, however, Jessica has reportedly issued an ultimatum of her own to Joe and Tina, that if they don't back off, they may soon be out of a job.
One source in the latest October 19, issue of Life & Style claims that Jessica told Joe and Tina point blank to mind their own business or be prepared to suffer the consequences:
"They are scared to death that Jessica has a problem and fear she's going to crash and burn.
"[But] she told Joe and Tina that they can shut up or get off her payroll.
"She's pissed that they made such a big deal about her HSN appearance, and now they're barely speaking."
