As the Indianapolis Colts approach Week 4 action against the Jacksonville Jaguars, they are concerned that star QB Andrew Luck could miss the game.
Coming off of their first win of the season in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans, the Colts were hoping to continue the momentum that they had going for them. Not having Luck on the field is going to be an issue for them, although there is no denying that they have the talent to win without him. Matt Hasselbeck would be the starter if Luck can't play, which obviously is a massive dropoff.
That being said, it is not a sure thing that he will end up missing the game. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there is a chance that Luck will miss the game but the Colts won't make that decision until after they see him throw on Sunday before the game.
Throughout the three games that the Colts have played this season, Luck has struggled in a huge way. He has completed just just 56.0 percent of his passes for 753 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. It has been an extremely disappointing start to 2015 to say the least, especially with the high expectations that many had for him coming into the season.
At 26 years old, there is no denyng the fact that Luck cannot have any excuses for the turnovers that he has committed and the poor play that he has shown.
Simply having the three years of prior experience that he has should be negating the turnover problem. He should have learned what he needs to work on and made the necessary adjustments in his game. That has yet to happen and there are major concerns that if he hasn't learned them yet he never will.
Looking ahead at Week 4, the Colts need to be very careful with their franchise quarterback. Having a shoulder injury as a quarterback is never something to play around with.
This entire situation certainly leaves quite a bit of intrigue for the upcoming week. Indianapolis has been struggling enough already with Luck, but there is even more concern about how ugly things would be without him. After the 1-2 start that they have had, this is the week that they have to get things back on track.
Luck is a very tough player and it wouldn't be surprising to see him out on the field this Sunday. He knows how important this game is for his team and he will do everything in his power to come back in time to play.
