By all accounts Gwen Stefani's romance with new boyfriend Blake Shelton couldn't be doing much better, but word has it that her relationship with Gavin Rossdale is quite a different matter. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Bush frontman is demanding that the Voice judge give him more than half her reported $120 million net worth. It's said that while the No Doubt singer is currently house shopping with Miranda Lambert's ex-husband, her own is suggesting that all the time her spent supporting her while she built up her brand should be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 million once you figure in the 16-years of child and spousal supports payments.
Although they were said to be planning to keep their split as amicable as possible for the sake of their three sons, Gavin Rossdale is reported to be pulling no punches in his quest to take half of Gwen Stefani's fortune.
The insider that Radar Online spoke to explains that Gwen never thought that Gavin would stoop so low, but they don't have a prenupt, so he pretty much has her bent over a barrel:
"Gwen is furious because at the outset of the divorce, Gavin said he wouldn't go after her money.
"Gavin is now demanding more than half of her fortune... even threatening to go to trial if he isn't given a chunk of Gwen's fortune. And he will ask for child and spousal support as well."
The insider claims that Gavin has even somehow convinced himself that Gwen owes him the money for being her husband through all those years she was making the family tens of millions of dollars:
"He has complained that while Gwen was launching her successful clothing line, continuing her music career, and expanding her brand by appearing as a judge on The Voice, he stayed home with their sons."
No matter how bad things get with Gavin, Gwen supposedly still has the shoulder of her new boyfriend, Blake Shelton, to cry on at the end of the day.
One source in the latest October 5, issue of Life & Style claims that the happy couple are buying a new home together in Hollywood, just so they can hang out alone when they have some down time:
"They need a place to go when they want to hook up or spend time together.
"they are looking for a home that has a pool and is very private."
What do you think about Gavin, who is said to be worth $20 million himself, supposedly going after Gwen's money in the divorce?
Is it only fair given that many would support Gwen's right to do the same if things were the other way around?
Or, is there something fundamentally wrong with a wealthy man demanding the mother of his children just given him a pile of money?
