Green Bay Packers vs. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Week 3 Prediction

The Green Bay Packers will welcome the Kansas City Chiefs this evening in NFL Week 3 action. What is a reasonable final score prediction for this game?

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are fresh off of a huge victory on Sunday Night Football last week against the Seattle Seahawks. It was sweet revenge after the way that last seasons NFC Championship game ended. They are facing a different beast against Kansas City, especially on the offensive side of the football.

Kansas City, on the other hand, is coming off of a crushing loss against the Denver Broncos last Thursday night. Alex Smith knows that his team has to get a big win tonight in order to get back on track in a very tough AFC. They have the necessary talent to pull off a win on the road in the hostile Lambeau Field, but they will have to play a nearly perfect game to do so.

Jamaal Charles is going to be the major key for the Chiefs, as the Packers have struggled against quick running backs this season. Matt Forte faced off against them in Week 1 and nearly was able to beat them by himself. Green Bay's defense did a good job against Marshawn Lynch last week, but that isn't the type of quick playmaking running back that they struggle with.

Green Bay is going to look to establish their ground game as well, with Eddie Lacy back on the field ready to play. James Starks will also see a good number of carries as well, but Lacy is going to be the primary ball carrier.

There is no question that the Packers are the better team on paper and should come away with a 3-0 record following this game. Rodgers playing at home has been an excellent recipe for Green Bay over the last few seasons in particular and he has played nearly perfect football at Lambeau Field. Tom Clements is going to put the football in his hands and allow him to make the plays, but the offensive line has to keep Justin Houston away from Rodgers.

As for the Green Bay defense, putting pressure on quarterback Alex Smith and forcing quick decisions is the way to take hold of the game. Smith will throw interceptions when he is under pressure and the defense has to be ready to capitalize on those mistakes.

Expect to see a very entertaining football game between two very good football teams. Neither team is likely to blow the other out, but Rodgers and the Packers should be able to carve out a big win. Green Bay and Kansas City will likely put up big numbers, so make sure to tune into the game with free online streaming or on ESPN.
