Indianapolis Colts: 5 Reasons to Panic Following 0-2 Start

The Indianapolis Colts dropped to 0-2 on the season with the loss to the New York Jets. What five reasons can be given for panic to start in Indianapolis?

1. Andrew Luck's Struggles Are Getting Even Worse

Last night's game against the Jets showed Andrew Luck's struggles even more, as he ended up throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble as well. He is looking worse against coverage rather than better and it appears that opposing defenses might have figure out how to defend against him. Indianapolis needs to panic that their quarterback hasn't taken the next step into elite status and has instead regressed to being awful through the first two games.

2. Drama Within the Front Office

Chuck Pagano is without question on the hot seat for the Colts, especially with all of the rumors coming out of Indianapolis that he has tension with general manager Ryan Grigson. He reportedly turned down the Colts' last extension offer and was insulted at the contract that they extended to him. It appears that he is on his way out of town following the season and they will look to bring in another big name.

3. Andre Johnson Hasn't Proven to Be a Threat

Andre Johnson was signed this past offseason in free agency to be a major playmaker opposite of T.Y. Hilton, but that hasn't been the case through the first two games. He has caught just seven catches for 51 yards and no touchdowns so far, which has been a major disappointment. The offense needs much more out of the veteran star moving forward, but perhaps age has taken hold on him this season.

4. Major Defensive Issues

It would take way too long to talk about every issue that the Colts' defense has had so far this season. Suffice it to say that injuries have piled up and they have been awful against both the pass and the run against both the Buffalo Bills and the Jets. Ryan Grigson thought he had improved the defense from last season, but they actually look to be a bit more prone to giving up big plays than they did in 2014.

5. One of the Worst Offensive Lines in the NFL

One of the biggest issues for the Colts' offense has been the offensive line's massive struggles early on. Andrew Luck may be making terrible passes, but it doesn't help that the line has been allowing defense through nearly untouched. Frank Gore has also struggled at times early on this year due to the offensive line having major holes.

Overview

Needless to say, the future looks very dim for the Colts this season at this point in time. There is a good chance that they will turn things around and get their season back on track, but it is definitely time for the franchise and fans to panic. They will be taking a trip to Tennessee to face the Titans in Week 3 and it is a must-win game for them.

Don't be surprised to see the Colts struggle once again against Marcus Mariota and the Titans this coming week.

It will be very intriguing to see whether or not the Colts can get their season back on track or whether they will keep falling apart. Luck has to figure his struggles out in order for the Colts to have any chance. He definitely has the potential to get back to playing at a superstar level, but it has to start immediately.
