Tom Cruise Avoids Daughter Suri & Katie Holmes for Scientology? [2015 NEWS]

As counter intuitive as it sounds, word has it that Tom Cruise hasn't seen his daughter in more than 2-years, for religious reasons. According to the latest gossip news updates, the hero of 2015's hit Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation has been avoiding Suri so that he won't be tainted by Katie Holmes and her negative view of Scientology. Of course, Cruise could honestly just be so consumed with his busy career making movies that he honestly just doesn't have the time to see his little girl.

It can hard to imagine a modern religion that would require its faithful to virtually abandon their children, but that is exactly what former high-ranking church member Marc Headley claims that Scientology is all about.

In the latest August 17, issue of InTouch Weekly, Headley explains that Tom Cruise's reportedly avoiding his daughter, Suri, for moths at a time probably may have more to do with her mother's lack of faith in the teaching of L. Ron Hubard than it does anything else:

"It's possible that Tom won't see Suri because he thinks Katie and her family are speaking negatively about him and Scientology.

"Also, if Katie is considered a Suppressive Person -- although there is no evidence she has been labeled officially -- then the person connected to them is considered a Potential Troubled Source (PTS).

"You can have contact with a PTS but you can't achieve the highest levels of Scientology if you are connected to someone that is a Potential Troubled Source. It is better to disconnect."

According to the magazine's second source, however, the real reason Tom hasn't seen Suri is because they have moved on with their lives since they last met:

"Although Tom loves his daughter dearly, he realizes that both have new lives -- hers living bi-coastally with her mom, his as a single man focused on his career."

While that seems just as an unlikely an explanation for Tom's supposed absence from Suri's life as blaming his faith, Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow and Mission: Impossible collaborator, Christopher McQuarrie, explained that Ethan Hunt's passion for making movies can, at times ,come off as doggedly obsessed.

In an interview with Uproxx, the Rogue Nation director recalled one evening when Tom wouldt not be deterred from pitching his new idea for Edge of Tomorrow 2 (via ComingSoon.net):

"Edge of Tomorrow was so hard and was so draining.

"When we went out to dinner when we were making Mission and Tom said, 'I have an idea for the sequel to Edge,' and I said, 'I don't want to f*cking hear it. I do not want to know!'

"And he pitched the idea to me and he finished pitching it, I was like, 'Why did you do that?'"

Hopefully Tom will soon get Suri into acting -- like Will Smith did with Jada -- so he and his little girl will at least get to spend some quality time together on set.
