SM Entertainment Sues Chinese EXO Artists, Including Kris

Last June, in an effort to bring both parties together, Korean courts sent ex-EXO members Kris and Luhan and SM Entertainment, into a mediation to settle their differences. In fact, they ordered the mediation. Now, news comes down that the forced mediation talks, at least as far as Kris is concerned, have broken down and SM has filed suit against Kris.

Concerning their lawsuit against Kris, SM released a statement. There was absolutely no mention of Tao, SM's favorite whipping boy the last few months, anywhere in the statement. In fact, the lawsuit had nothing to do with Tao whatsoever. Per KPopStarz, "SM Entertainment has now officially filed a lawsuit against Kris and the advertisement companies and movie production companies who have employed Kris for his illegal activities."

If SM's posturing seems familiar to anyone, all you have to do is rewind back to May and you will find the same tactics used on fellow band member Luhan. Previously, Luhan was so miserable in EXO, largely due to SM's treatment, that he mourned his career decision to Elle China, "If I could go back to when I was twenty years old, I probably would choose another path of life. Perhaps I would not choose this path of being an artist again; maybe I would have chosen to become a soccer player."

Back in the present day we also find Kris expressing similar feelings. In a statement to hopefully counter SM's lawsuit, Kris team laid out the facts, via IB Times, "After multilateral negotiations, Kris returned to the team,(After a forced hiatus) but he was continuously treated unfairly and oppressively. SM's discriminatory treatment, unbearable treatment, and lack of vacation resulted in a serious health problem for Kris."

Apparently, SM Entertainment seems determined to declare war on all of their Chinese artists.
