Although the supermarket tabloids have been claiming that Mariah Carey and her new boyfriend are practically ready to announce their engagement, some folks are now claiming that they really aren't that close at all. According to the latest gossip news updates, the couple haven't exactly split, but the "Hero" singer has barely seen James Packer since their vacation three weeks ago. Meanwhile, Mariah's soon to be ex-husband, Nick Cannon, seems to have nearly run himself into the ground -- working as the host of America's Got Talent. The Wild N' Out star recently let everyone know through his personal Instagram that even though he is in the hospital due to lupus related exhaustion, he still feels like a "superhero."
If you were just going by the countless reports that have been circulating on the internet and in the tabloids in recent weeks, Mariah Carey seemes poised to accept James Packer's overzealous marriage proposal at any moment, but word now has it that those rumors may have been grossly exaggerated.
While they may have been seen holding hands everywhere from Ibiza to Tel Aviv back in June, the Daily Mail reports that until just a couple days ago, Carey hadn't been with her billion dollar baby in almost a month:
"They proved to be inseparable during a recent summer break, but despite the apparent intensity of their abrupt romance James Packer and Mariah Carey have not been seen together for more than three weeks."
Be that as in may, however, TMZ insists that when Packer was finally able to get back up with Mariah on Tuesday, she was as enamored as ever -- dedicating her hit "Hero" to the Australian business man in concert in Las Vegas the very next night:
"He got back Tuesday and took Mariah to dinner at Andiron Steak and Sea in Vegas...and also had 1,000 roses delivered to her house.
"Carey gave a shout-out to James Packer during her Vegas show Wednesday, telling the crowd she has 'a new heart' and credits Jimbo."
In contrast to Mariah's having the best time of her life, Nick Cannon found himself back in the hospital this week.
Despite not quite feeling 100 percent, the America's Got Talent star let everyone know via Instagram that he would be back to his old self before long (via USA Today):
"Dont worry, temporary pit stop...I got to stop running my body to the ground.
"I be wanting to grind nonstop but the engine can't run on fumes.
"On the low though, I really think I'm a super hero...LOL #ImGood"
Let's hope that Cannon is soon going just as strong as Mariah and James's supposed relationship.
