Despite the fact that they had only been officially dating for a few weeks, Mariah Carey's new boyfriend, James Packer, is said to already be planning a lavish wedding ceremony with the Infinity singer. According to the latest gossip news update, the Australian billionaire has already promised to spare no expense when they get married, but Mariah's current husband, American Got Talent host, Nick Cannon, is none too pleased. Word has it that the Wild N' Out rapper is absolutely furious with the way his soon-to-be ex-wife is acting around their kids.
With a reported net worth of 4.2 billion dollars Australian billionaire James Packer can afford to spend his money on anything he wants, and word has it that he wants to spend a good bit of it on an over-the-top wedding to Mariah Carey.
While it seems extremely hard to believe given the short time they have been dating coupled with Mariah's not quite single status, one source in the latest July 20, issue of Life & Style magazine insists that James Packer is already itching to marry Mariah:
"James is deadset on tying the knot with Mariah...Both of their attorneys are drawing up a prenuptial agreement."
According to the nameless spy, Packer's big selling point was a ceremony that would put all other celebrity weddings to shame:
"James has promised Mariah the most expensive wedding of the century.
"He's told her that he is planning on buying out a large section of Capri -- her favorite place in the world -- for a sky's-the-limit wedding."
Although a quickie wedding might make sense to Carey and her new beau, her friends supposedly think that things are moving way too fast.
The behind the scenes informant in last week's Star, claimed that those closet to Mariah think that she could be making a big mistake:
"Mariah's friends think she's lost her mind...she's not even divorced from her last husband, Nick!
"Mariah Already has her two kids calling him Uncle James.
"It's all kind of weird...and happening so fast that her closest pals are trying to talk some sense into her and slow her down."
It's Packer's contact with his kids that has their dad, Nick Cannon, miffed according to the July 13, L&S --being that the America's Got Talent host has yet to even meet "Uncle James" himself:
"It's an understatement to say that Nick is pissed off.
"Nick doesn't care if you are a billionaire or a busboy, he doesn't want his kids around a man that he hasn't met yet...Mariah doesn't play by the rules."
