While everyone was happy to hear the news that America's much beloved Uncle Jesse was safe and sound after recently getting arrested for a DUI in L.A., word has it that John Stamos' close friends and Fuller House cast mates are afraid that the 51-year-old actor is drinking far too much to cope again. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Netflix producer's wild behavior has some folks convinced that Stamos is in desperate need of rehab before he winds up ruining the chances of his new TV show's success.
His character on Full House may have seemed like the life of the party, but in real-life middle-age actor John Stamos is just no Uncle Jesse.
One source claiming to be close to Stamos explains in the June 28 of Star magazine the behind-the-scenes the Full House icon doesn't even come close to his gregarious, Elvis obsessed onscreen persona:
"John may appear really outgoing to the outside world, but he's actually an extremely lonely guy.
"He doesn't have a wife, kids or even his girlfriend.
"Some of his friends think that he drinks to numb the pain of feeling alone...then one drink turns into 10."
The friend of Stamos that People spoke to mentioned how the death of his mother last year initially shook John up a bit but didn't believe this latest episode was indicative of the problems with drinking that he's had in the past:
"That was crushing for him...He did his best to stay strong, but he absolutely fell apart.
"John has always drunk socially.
"At one point, it was a problem. But this is not that time in his life."
Despite the assertion that Stamos knows what he is doing at this point in his life -- ignoring the occasional drunken arrest of course -- InTouch's informant insisted that alcohol was the cure-all that John was currently taking in liberal doses for all his problems:
"Everyone thinks John has a problem.
"He drinks to cope with his problems...[and] he's out of control."
Let's hope that Stamos is able to lock it up befor Kurt Cameron has to come down to Netflix and drag his saintly sister, Cameron, far away from John's set of sin.
