Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez made quite an impression in Salman Khan's 2014 mega hit film Kick. However, the one she failed to impress was probably the most important one in all of India, namely Salman Khan.
With producer Sajid Nadiadwala by his side, Khan said, "Sajid and I will work together then, whenever it happens. However, whenever it happens, there will be no Jacqueline. She has been 'Kick'ed out. Now, we will find someone else." The statement, it has been said, was Salman Khan trying to be funny, but was he really?
People in the know began to wonder.
Speculation has been rife about why Fernandez will not be in the sequel. Buzz is that Khan is unhappy with the actress. The source of the falling out stems back to Khan's recent hit-and-run conviction. Suggestions are that Fernandez didn't stick up for bad boy Khan, because now he wants nothing wants nothing to do with her. She was visibly absent when most of the rest of the Bollywood showed up in support.
While it was claimed Fernandez was away traveling, NDTV says that Fernandez failed to even offer her support on social media.
Whatever the case, while attending IIFA this weekend in Kuala Lumpur, Fernandez was quizzed about the snub. Instead of taking the bait and beginning a war with Khan, Fernandez took the high road. "Being part of Kick was the most amazing experience in my life and I thank Salman for making me a part of the movie. If not in Kick 2, there will be more movies with him. Kick was a huge blessing, so it's all that I need."
It's not often King Khan is schooled. This might have been one of those times. Let us know what you think. We'd love to hear from you.
