The Bollywood Roles Salman Khan Regrets: Films He Passed On

Throughout history, many have said they regret the things they didn't do more than the things they did, but for Salman Khan, it may be a toss-up. Let's see...drunk driving/hit-and-run, poaching, losing the most beautiful girl in the world, not to mention a general case of foot-in-mouth disease. But there have been things Salman Khan hasn't done (hard to believe) that may come close to those. Soon, he may have plenty of time to think about all that. Some of the things (as in roles) he's passed over include the award-winning Chak Di! India-a role, which had been written for Salman, but he could not fit it into his schedule. He also reportedly had a chance at the lead in Ghajini but turned it down.

Maybe Shah Rukh Khan can thank Salman Khan for his break-out role in the commercially-successful crime-thriller, Baazigar. After all, Salman was initially picked to play that movie's lead. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan has been blessed with more than a few of Salman Khan's other throw-aways, such as the role of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's brother in Josh. And who can forget India's longest running movie, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, in which the role of Raj initially had been offered to Salman.

For Salman Khan's current production schedule, there may or may not be a tomorrow, but certainly there will never be another chance to play in Kal Ho Na Ho: Kal Ho Naa Ho. Some suggest he didn't want to play a supporting role, or that there were differences of opinion with producer, Karan Johar, but regardless of reason, that movie went on without him. And so will Shuddhi, Karan Johar's other much-talked-about film set to shoot soon. Salman had been signed and ready, but has been replaced because of his pending holiday in jail. Poor Salman Khan. For him, it might be a case of regretting what you did that caused you to regret what you didn't.
