Bollywood Filmmakers Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bitter Feud Over?

Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's feud is the stuff tabloids drool over. They are two of Bollywood's most accomplished filmmakers, and professional competitiveness has driven a wedge between them. Bhansali roped in Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for his film Goliyon Ki Rasleela - Ram-Leela. It was believed that Johar wanted to cast the real life couple in his Shuddhi film when Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan bowed out. Johar once noted that Bhansali and he shared a very formal, yet amicable relationship.

During a recent magazine interview, Johar was asked whether he talked to Bhansali about Shuddhi. Johar's response was pointed and didn't mask the displeasure he felt towards his counterpart:

"There's no reason for me to speak to him about Shuddhi at all. He didn't discuss the Bajirao Mastani announcement with me."

Bhansali countered that he didn't need anyone's permission to cast his film the way he wanted to cast it.

The stage was set when both were invited by Deepika Padukone to a party to celebrate the success of her movie Piku.

Cue Ennio Morricone and find out who is the Bollywood version of Sergio Leone. This could get ugly, right?

Apparently not. The two were seen talking cordially to each other and neither was holding a weapon.

According to a report published in the Mumbai Mirror, the two Bollywood powerhouses "looked at each other....And just smiled. It was as if they had never fought. They spoke for a good 30 minutes about everything, from current films to their past differences. By the time they were ready to go home, all was well."

Johar has to be in a better place with the news today that, while he may not have gotten the actors he wanted, he found two actors he was very familiar with in Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

Maybe the past is water under the bridge.
