If Royal Challenger Bangalore fans didn't have enough reasons to hate team leader Virat Kohli's girlfriend Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma enough, the cricket star could be in trouble with the IPL. After a test match was canceled due to rain, thus assuring his team a playoff spot, Virat rushed to meet Anushka, apparently breaking match protocol in the process. Speculation is Virat will receive a warning for unprofessional conduct.
No stranger to irate cricket fans, Anushka opened up in Bollywood Life about internet trolls that bullied her after India loss at the World Cup this year. They blamed her for Virat stinking, saying she was a distraction to Kohli. For his part, the batsman shouldered the blame himself and expressed his anger about Anushka being blamed. Anushka remained silent until now.
"I don't know what to make out of it. It is upsetting, no doubt. To be targeted and bullied by goons, if I call them that. It was very hurtful. It is sad that a self-made, successful woman, can be degraded and downgraded to nothing more than a distraction or a 'Mandakini' who is destroying someone's concentration," the actress raged.
Anushka remained defiant, unafraid to show her affection for the man she loves in public when they arrived back in India. after crashing out of the World Cup. She was also enraged that anyone would question Virat's resolve for the sport he loves.
She adds, "At the same time, you are doubting the credibility and passion of one of your brightest players. Who, I know, has so much passion for his game that he went and performed in a match on the day his father died. People don't understand the enormity of that. For them, it was just about someone playing a match they don't realize what all goes on behind that."
