Hot on the heels of the success of Charlize Theron's new action movie reboot, Mad Max, Sean Penn's girlfriend is said to be teaming up with Hollywood sex-symbol turned big budget director, Angelina Jolie. According to the latest gossip news updates, Brad Pitt's wife may soon be officially named as the new director of Captain Marvel, with Charlize reportedly set to play the female action hero. Word has it that Theron and Jolie have become fast friends since Charlie first got engaged to the Mystic River Oscar winner, being that he has such a close relationship with her husband, Brad Pitt, and would love to wind up working together.
Sean Penn might get the benefit of having a readymade family thanks to his girlfriend, Charlize Theron, having adopted a South African orphan sometime before they started dating, but she gets the added perk of hobnobbing with all his super-famous friends.
One source claiming to be close to the couple explains in the May 25, issue of OK! Magazine that Charlie is now getting to be everbetter friends with legendary beauty, Angelina Jolie, since supposedly getting engaged to Penn:
"The guys have been tight for years, and ever since Sean and Charlize became serious they've been spending a lot of time together as a foursome.
"The girls realized that they have a very similar outlook on life and quickly bonded over everything from their adopted children to their prospective Hollywood projects."
According to the informant, Angelina may soon find herself having to boss around her new bestie on the set of Charlize's next action movie, Captain Marvel:
"Marvel has been courting Angie to direct the project, and Charlize is a clear fan favorite for the starring role.
"If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign onto work with her new pal."
While it's uncertain if Charlize would even be interested in the role so shortly after staring in action-centric Mad Max, Theron definitely wouldn't be scared off by the story's feminist overtones the way a more timid actress may be.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Penn's fiancé explained that it was considered taboo to embrace the new George Miller film as feministic, despite the fact that it has already been validated as a success by every reasonable metric:
"I feel like as a girl, you're just not allowed to say that, because it sounds like he has some other agenda...but yeah.
"What really rung very loudly in it was the importance that women have in this world of survival.
"And, so clearly, the younger generation of women were represented in it; my generation was represented; then this older generation of women were represented in it.
"I was very happy to be a girl with boobies and be a part of that."
As though Charlize Theron's boobies have ever had any trouble getting cast in an action film.
