Monster actress Charlize Theron may never have considered longtime friend, Sean Penn, as a potential lover during the first two decades of their relationship, but the South African beauty sure thanks her lucky stars that she's since seen the light. According to the latest gossip news updates, that does not mean however that the Mad Max starlet is going to be planning a wedding to the Mystic River Oscar winner any time soon. Charlize addressed the recent engagement rumors -- explaining that she and Sean are more than happy keeping things just the way they are for the time being. Speaking of Mad Max -- Charlie also confirmed the other day that she and fellow lead, Tom Hardy, did, in fact, feud a little bit on the Mel Gibson action franchise reboot, but explained that it was sort of expected to happen here and there when working with such dedicated actors.
After keeping the relationship quiet for months, Charlize Theorn is finally talking in detail about what it's like to have Hollywood legend Sean Penn as her boyfriend.
During a quick interview with Extra, Theron explained that most days she felt like the luckiest girl in the whole world (via DailyMail):
"You know it's a beautiful thing how the world...the universe, you know this thing that we call life can send you beautiful surprises.
"I've known [Sean] for a really long time, and I never in a million years thought that I would find myself in this really special place in my life.
"And it's really nice."
That being said, Charlize didn't mind telling People Magazine to slow their roll a little bit when they started inquiring about the rumors that Theron had already been seen sporting a diamond engagement ring:
"I love the possibility of anything, but I'm really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends."
Apparently feeling especially open as of late, Charlize also talked fairly freely about her recent onset feud with Mad Max costar, Tom Hardy.
While Theron admitted to getting under each other's skin at the time, she insists that it all came from a place of respect and a desire to bring their best work to the project:
"We drove each other crazy, but I think we have respect for each other, and that's the difference.
"Both of us want to please the directors we work with, and when you don't know if you can deliver on that, it's a frightening place to be."
Let's hope Tom Hardy chills out around Charlize in the future before her new boyfriend accidently mistakes him for a paparazzo.
