Being that it's his third time at bat, it would make sense if Sean Penn picked up a thing or two about planning a wedding over the years. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Mystic River Oscar winner is reportedly pushing his bride-to-be, Charlize Theron, in the direction of a very small and discreet ceremony, but the Monster actress may have had her heart set on something more elaborate. Speaking of the Oscars -- the Gunman explained that he doesn't much like going to the Academy Awards unless he is the one giving out the statuettes. Penn is also speaking up to defend Bruce Jenner's recent Hollywood traffic accident. Robin Wright's ex-husband claims that the paparazzi are making Tinsel Town too dangerous for celebrities -- noting that the predatory photographers have virtually been ignoring the new laws forbidding them from harassing his girlfriend, when she is with her son, Jackson.
Sean Penn has a lot on his mind these days; in addition to his movie career and international hand-on approach to activism, the Hollywood icon is also said to be planning his wedding to fiancé, Charlize Theron.
A source close to the couple reveled in the March 30, issue of OK! Magazine that Penn was hoping they might go for something a little more subdued than the typical celebrity ceremony:
"Sean has been telling Charlie they should have a quiet, destination wedding and donate the money they would have spent [otherwise]."
Penn is also quite concerned with the dangerous situation the paparazzi are causing for all the commuters in LA.
Putting his violent interactions with the photojournalist in the past aside, Penn explained to USA Today why their irresponsible behavior should be outlawed outright:
"But, he says, pulling his phone out as a prop, 'I'm driving in a car and I want to say I'll be five minutes late. It's against the law. Why? It's distracting.
"'But it's not against the law for me to distract you if I'm a paparazzi.
"'So if Bruce Jenner is being chased down the Pacific Coast Highway by a paparazzi, at the very least he's distracted.'"
Unfortunately, those aren't his only worries these days -- every year Penn find his stomach's in knots come award season.
According to Academy Award winner, having to actually sit in the audience at the Oscars is practically enough to induce a heart attack:
"I didn't go for most of the times I was nominated simply because it's socially uncomfortable.
"I hate that. I don't mind going there if you go in the back door and give out an award or something.
"But sitting in that seat, that's a long sit."
Besides...when you are already set to marry Charlize Theron, who needs any further accolades.
