When Sherri Shepherd decided that she didn't want to be married to her Lamar Sally anymore or go through with adopting their surrogate child around the same time that she was fired from The View last year, the divorce affected more than just Sherri and her husband. Jessica Barstow, Shepherd and Sally's surrogate, was forced by California to take financial responsibility of Sherri's child since she was balking on caring for the kid. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, a judge has since let Barstow off the hook -- ruling that Shepherd's name be added to the baby's birth certificate despite the fact that her egg was not used in the surrogate process.
Sherri Shepherd shocked fans and critics alike when she publicly stated last year that she wasn't going to have anything to do with the surrogate child she originally planned to have with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Lamar Sally, despite the fact that the baby's birth was only a few weeks away at the time of the announcement.
The woman hired by Lamar and Sherri, Jessica Barstow, who was shocked by Shepherd's change of heart, told Inside Edition that the former View host's dirty tricks left her financially ruined with a baby to help support (via Huffington Post):
"Because [Shepherd] doesn't want to be a part of the baby's life, I have to pick up all the slack with my name being on the birth certificate, a noncustodial parent, medical bills.
"I'm still considered the mother of a child that's not mine.
"It's affected me a lot. I am now listed as a noncustodial parent in California...I have a child support case coming against me now."
It turns out that a Pennsylvania judge has finally agreed with Lamar and Jessica, however, reports TMZ -- placing responsibility for co-parenting the baby back on Shepherd's shoulders despite her inhuman insistence that she be allowed to abandon the baby forever:
"Sherri Shepherd has lost her epic battle with her soon to be ex-husband ... she's officially listed as the mother of the child who was born via surrogate."
It's not enough for Lamar that Sherri finally be listed as the mother of the baby, he wants Shepherd to also pay for all the ugly accusations she's made against his character over the past year or so:
"I want her to go on television and apologize the same way that she went on there and accused me of being a gold digger and tricking her into having a baby."
According to Sally, if there is still a victim in the this situation now that Barstow has been let out of the poorly planned parent trap, it's him (via DailyMail)
"That is one of the reasons we married after only a year -- because she was ready to do this.
"I wanted to wait another year or two to get married but having a baby with me was so important to her I said, 'OK, let's do it.'"
Perhaps, the baby would honestly be better off if they just left it in the woods to be raised by wolves?
