Apparently, freshly fired View cast member Sherri Shepherd may be getting a second chance at co-hosting the TV show that Barbara Walters made famous nearly twenty years ago. According to the latest gossip news updates, the ABC producers are strongly considering bringing back Shepherd and fellow former co-host, Joy Behar, to rejuvenate the sluggish ratings. Rumor has it that's terrible news for Rosie O'Donnell, because if the network seals the deal with Joy and Sherri, O'Donnell is reportedly out. It's said that everyone is having problems dealing with Rosie's diva antics--especially Whoopi Goldberg.
It looks like Sherri Shepherd may not have been fired from The View so much as furloughed, if there is any truth to the recent reports that ABC is thinking about offering the comedienne her old job back.
According to the good folks over at Perez Hilton, the series execs are hoping that a few old and familiar faces may bring back some old familiar fans to the show as well:
"ABC execs have contacted former hosts Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd about the prospect of returning the show and bring back some much needed energy!"
Unfortunately for Rosie O'Donnell, who is herself a returning co-host, that spells nothing but disaster, as her fellow cast members, along with virtually everyone, else have already tired of her selfish nonsense:
"The honeymoon period is OFFICIALLY over, according to these sources, as the initial boost in ratings is LONG gone and people are reportedly fed up with her diva-ish behavior!
"It's not really too surprising as Rosie has already clashed with Whoopi Goldberg and is apparently known to shoot down ANY idea that isn't hers!"
It would seem from her recent impersonation of O'Donnell during a visit to Good Morning America, that Sherri Shepherd would have no problem replacing the annoying blowhard who took her job (via Hollywood Reporter):
"I got sciatica in my back. And I'm going through depression.
"How many other ailments can I get?
"I got 12 more in the year that I'll be on The View."
Is ABC really trying to say that there is so little female talent in Hollywood that they have to recycle the cast every five years...because it's really starting to just come across as lazy at this point.
