If you are one of the old spoilsports still whining about Paul Feig’s new all-female Ghostbusters cast, then you are not going to like what Dan Aykroyd has to say about it. The original Ghostbusters creator and star, is helping to helm the new Ghostcorps team, planning Ghostbusters 3 and beyond. Recently, Aykroyd opened up about the new films, comparing the expanded universe to the super successful Marvel franchise.
During a recent appearance on The HuffPost Show, Dan Aykroyd opened up about the new Ghostbusters expanded universe, saying there can not be too many:
"We need as many as the artists want to produce with the concept. I mean, it's kind of like the Marvel series. There's opportunities here to do different types of stories."
Aykroyd went on to discuss the upcoming all-female cast, written and directed by Paul Feig:
"The writing is very skillful. And look at that powerhouse cast. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie connect with a whole new generation of young women who don't know 'Ghostbusters.'"
