It was recently announced that Paul Feig’s upcoming all female Ghostbusters reboot will be followed by an all male Ghostbusters 3, produced and possible starring Magic Mike star Channing Tatum. Original Ghostbusters writer & star Dan Aykroyd and director Ivan Reitman are leading it all with a new production company known as Ghostcorps. Marvel Universe heavyweights are also being brought in to help with the franchise, including Captain America 3: Civil War directors, the Russo Brothers with Iron Man 3’s Drew Pearce, pinning the script. Now Paul Feig is speaking out about the all new movie, that is hot on the heels of his all female version.
Paul Feig recently spoke to Variety about the new all-male Ghostbusters film, that will be following his own all-female version:
“I’d heard some rumblings about it. Who knew there were so many ghosts to be busted in the world?...All I know is my ladies are going to kick a** and I would not want to go into battle without them.”
Dan Aykroyd, has long held hope for a second sequel as he told Sirius XM’s Unmasked with Ron Bennington, about his plans for a third film (via The Interro Bang):
“There’s three drafts of the old concept that exists. And we’re going to be able to salvage some of it and use it. Yeah, we’re gonna be able to use it some day. Let’s get this one made and that will reinvigorate the franchise and then we’ll go on to maybe doing a more conventional third sequel as we were planning and another idea I have for it.”
