Throughout his career, Kobe Bryant has elevated himself to the upper echelon of NBA royalty. Even though his performance on the court is poetic, Bryant's reputation has been peppered with controversies far from iambic. In recent news, Kobe offered insight into his alleged rape scandal, his marriage and the miscarriage that the two suffered. His willingness to lift the veil on such touchy matters has onlookers thinking more about the star's pending return to the Lakers. Miami star Dwyane Wade, for instance, wasn't shy when he recently backed the brute strapped in yellow and gold.
Before his time as a professional, Bryant gained national attention for his performances with Lower Marion High School in Pennsylvania. Impressively, he was selected straight out of high school by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1996 NBA Draft.
Since then, Kobe has climbed the ranks to one of the league's most decorated individuals.
He led his Los Angeles team to five championship victories, and some suggest he has one more left in his pocket. According to Yibada, though, he has some dirty laundry to air out before that happens:
"Kobe Bryant's confessions...bare some of his deepest thoughts about his marriage to Vanessa. He acknowledges the responsibility of being the man of the house...It was in 2004 when Vanessa had a miscarriage amidst the rape case hearing. Bryant went on to say that, they wanted to believe things happen and the miscarriage is a natural thing that can happen to anyone, but that was not the case as Bryant blamed himself for the miscarriage and the stress it brought to his wife..."
In regards to his return though, many have the Mamba's back.
According to Lakers Nation, even Dwyane Wade has faith in Kobe:
"The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Miami Heat Wednesday night and lost their third straight game despite competing until the end. The Heat star commented on Kobe Bryant's injury and recovery after the game and...Wade is expecting Bryant to come back strong next season. 'Kobe has found ways to be effective after so many years in the league,' Wade said. 'So never count him out in bouncing back next year and doing it all over again.'"
