NBA Legend LeBron James Passes Scottie Pippen for Most Career Assists: Cavaliers Bound for Finals?

In many ways, LeBron James will never reach the notoriety of the infamous Michael Jordan. However, the Cleveland star's impact on the game is undeniable. James just passed Scottie Pippen for the most career assists by an NBA forward. It seems that LeBron has no intention of slowing down on his journey to greatness. This season is definitely a testament to that. One source recently outlined the reality of seeing the Cavs in the finals this year.

Before his time as a professional, LeBron gained national recognition for his performances at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Astonishingly, he earned himself a first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers right out of high school.

At the time of the 2003 NBA Draft, nobody knew how much a single selection would affect the entire sport of basketball. Now, James serves as the face of Ohio and athletics, in general. According to NESN, the brute recently added a new chapter to his book of accomplishments:

"The LeBron James milestone tracker just keeps on ticking. This time, he passed even more exclusive company. James officially passed Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen for the most career assists by an NBA forward in Wednesday night's victory over the Detroit Pistons. This accomplishment comes right after another milestone, passing Allen Iverson for 22nd on the NBA's all-time scoring list, which he accomplished Sunday. As of Thursday, James had 6,136 assists in his career."

Things are going great for James as an individual right now, and according to Bleacher Report, his actions have been more than beneficial for the Cavaliers' franchise:

"The candles can burn at both ends when you're among the NBA's truly elite. Your season typically ends later, because you are helping to carry your team deep into the postseason. LeBron just went to four, and for a while, a fifth seemed exceptionally unlikely. His new, old team stumbled out of the gate, and his new coach appeared to struggle to acclimate. The pieces didn't seem to fit...But everything is different now, in terms of the roster, the attitude and the outlook."
