The NBA trade deadline is right around the corner, and many teams are looking to make some big moves. One source suggested that the Boston Celtics' Tayshaun Prince could be the most coveted free agent on the market. Rumors have been circling that the Clippers could be looking to scoop him up. Also, in regards to the Clippers, it looks like they have their eye on Gerald Green.
Before his time as a professional, Prince played college ball for the legendary University of Kentucky. During that time, his 6 ft. 9 in. stature and overall notable performances earned him a spot with the Detriot Pistons in the 2002 NBA Draft.
Since then, Prince jumped between several teams before he landed with the Celtics. Now, it looks like the time has come for Prince to make yet another switch. According to Yahoo Sports, several teams are considering taking on the brute's tall stature:
"As the Boston Celtics continue working to include forward Tayshaun Prince in a trade package, the organization plans to be accommodating with him on a contract buyout after the trade deadline should no deal emerge. As a free agent, Prince could become the most coveted player on the market this month -- with the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers promising to be strong contenders...Prince, 34, is still capable of delivering solid minutes off the bench for a contender."
Apparently, the Clippers think its imperative to bring in multiple new faces. According to Bleacher Report, they may also be picking up Gerald Green of the Phoenix Suns:
"On the season, Gerald Green is averaging a career-high 22 points per 36 minutes. However, he's shooting just 41.4 percent from the field and his usage has dropped considerably as of late, averaging just 15.7 minutes per game over his last 13, including a healthy DNP in late January. [He blames it on a lack of playtime.] Still, Green makes for an enticing offensive piece off the bench for a contender. He's a dangerous-albeit inconsistent-three-point shooter and elite athlete..."
