George Clooney is moving to New York City in preparation for his impending Broadway debut.

Even though he will be apart from his wife, Amal, and their children, Ella and Alexander, the Oscar winner is thrilled about this new professional endeavor.

According to an insider who spoke to Life and Style, "George has never done Broadway before, and he's thrilled about the opportunity."

"But between rehearsals and performances, it means he will spend six months in NYC."

The insider revealed additional details, mentioning that this split will undoubtedly challenge Amal's affection for George, who "is totally enamored with her."

"Amal is going to remain in France, where their two children are settled in — and there's no denying this is going to test their 10-year marriage."

George Clooney on Broadway

Clooney will be stepping onto the Broadway stage for the first time in the role of Edward R. Murrow in the upcoming stage adaptation of his acclaimed movie "Good Night, and Good Luck," set to premiere in spring 2025.

In 2005, he took the helm of the movie "Good Night, and Good Luck," where he not only directed but also co-wrote the screenplay and portrayed the character Fred Friendly.

Grant Heslov, his partner in writing the original script, also penned the script for the Broadway play.

The theatrical performance dives into Murrow's confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy over his anti-communist crusade.

Previews at the Winter Garden Theatre start on March 12, 2025, and with an opening night slated for April 3. The production is planned to conclude its run on June 8.
