Jenna Bush Hager, known for her role as the co-host of "Today with Hoda & Jenna" and as a former first daughter, is now aiming for a spot on Broadway!

During the recent airing of the NBC daytime program, Bush Hager playfully shared her aspiration to secure a part in the Dolly Parton biographical Broadway production titled "Dolly: An Original Musical."

"Dolly, please? I just want a little small part!" she quipped, adding she could be "an extra, just in the back, having coffee."

In preparation for the production, Bush Hager took the initiative to create an audition video showing her talent and humorously recited the lyrics of Parton's popular song "Jolene" while sporting a vibrant curly wig.

Despite the impromptu nature of her outfit, the host joked, "It was the best we could do on short notice."

"Dolly: An Original Musical," (formerly known as Hello, I'm Dolly), will dive into the story of the legendary singer's life and achievements.

With a mix of beloved classics and new compositions penned by Parton herself, the show is set to honor her experiences and the individuals who influenced her journey.

Helmed by director Bartlett Sher and co-authored by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter, the musical is actively seeking new faces through open casting calls to embody the role of Parton on the theatrical stage.

Recently, the 78-year-old music icon took to her social media to announce the upcoming open auditions, inviting her followers to join her in the journey of bringing her life story to the Broadway stage.

In her message, she expressed her excitement at the prospect of someone potentially portraying her character.

"I want to give you the chance to help me bring my story to Broadway — and maybe even play me!"
