David Foster is poised to leave a mark on the world of Broadway in 2025.

His latest endeavor, "Boop! The Musical" is a reimagining of the beloved 1930s animated figure Betty Boop.

In the creation of the musical, composer Foster joined forces with lyricist Susan Birkenhead and book writer Bob Martin. Leading the production is director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, a Tony Award winner known for his work on "Kinky Boots."

The show intertwines appealing visuals, rich melodies by Foster, and a portrayal by newcomer Jasmine Amy Rogers in the role of Betty Boop. Following a successful Chicago tryout last year, the musical garnered enthusiastic reviews.

In the Jazz Age world of Betty, the narrative takes an intriguing twist as she finds herself transported to modern-day New York through a remarkable time-travel device.

Reviewers have lauded the production for its visuals, delightful sounds, and enchanting storyline that resonates with audiences of all ages. Noteworthy performances by Rogers and the charming score by Foster have been highlighted as standout features of the show.

Starting March 11, the sneak peeks for the upcoming production "Boop!" are set to attract audiences with a significant $26 million financial backing.

Foster, who is scheduled to arrive in New York for rehearsals in February, enthusiastically portrays the production as a delightful departure from the weightier subjects currently prevalent on Broadway.

Foster has also ventured into another creative project aside from "Boop!" - a musical titled "Lucky Us," inspired by Amy Bloom's novel from 2014.

Incorporating the essence of jazz from that era is Foster's primary goal as he works on the production.

Boasting an impressive collection of 16 Grammy Awards, three Oscar nominations, and an Emmy win, Foster is diving into new territory with his foray into Broadway, further expanding his musical horizons.

Variety first reported about Foster's Broadway venture.
