Emmitt Smith is known for his prestigious actions on a football field, and his list of accomplishments seems to go on and on. Many times, he has rooted for others to break his record as the NFL's all-time rusher. In recent news, the brute showed a less glamorous side of himself. Apparently, Smith and his construction company have been accused of screwing Redi-Mix Concrete out of $50,000. Now, Redi-Mix has entered a lawsuit in an attempt to collect on the money they are owed.
Before his time as a professional, Smith played college ball for the University of Florida. Even though he left the school during his Junior year, Emmitt was unanimously voted an All-American.
His consistent performances and over-the-top effectiveness earned him a first round pick with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990 NFL Draft, and since then, Smith has become best known for his long time record for NFL All-Time Rusher.
He was even inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. A report by Biography points out that his repertoire of accomplishments doesn't end there:
"With the Cowboys, Smith became the NFL's all-time leading rusher...Smith helped the team take three Super Bowl Championship victories in 1993, 1994 and 1996.] He also played in several Pro Bowl games...he won the Super Bowl XXVIII MVP award in 1994. He returned the spotlight in 2006 as a contestant on the hit television show, Dancing with the Stars, and was invited back on the show in 2012, for Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars..."
True, Emmitt was quite the honorable athlete, however, TMZ Sports has suggested that Smith might not be the most honorable business owner:
"Emmitt Smith's accused of band screwing a concrete supply company out of nearly $50k worth of cement. Smith is the head of Emmitt Smith Enterprises and EJ Smith Supply...a construction company based in Dallas...according to a new lawsuit, EJ Smith ordered $46,448.65 in product from Redi-Mix Concrete last summer -- and never forked over the cash...Now Redi-Mix is going after the dough...and they've personally named Emmitt in the lawsuit...as well as EJ Smith Supply."
