Alcoholic Johnny "Football" Manziel Checks Into Rehab: Browns Quarterback in Trouble?

Johnny Manziel is easily one of the most discussed rookies in the NFL. His lackluster performances were more than a disappointment for a lot of fans. Also, Johnny was frequently criticized this season for his over-the-top partying and his excessive drinking. Now, the Browns have officially announced that Manziel has checked himself into rehab, reminding fans of the time Skip Bayless called Manziel out for his alcoholism a couple months back.

While in college, Manziel was nicknamed "Johnny Football" for his excellent skills and performances. He was nationally recruited out of high school as a dual-threat quarterback.

In 2012, Manziel debuted for the Texas A&M Aggies as a redshirt freshman, where he broke a multitude of NCAA and SEC Records

Even more impressive, though, was the fact that Johnny became the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy. Fans, analysts and everybody else was interested in seeing him perform as a pro.

However, Manziel turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments since Tim Tebow. Now, according to Business Insider, Manziel has finally checked himself into rehab:

"The Cleveland Browns announced that quarterback Johnny Manziel had entered a treatment facility...Manziel entered the program voluntarily after admitting to his family and to the Browns that he needed help and he is being treated for "possible dependence on alcohol." Manziel's off-field partying ways have been well documented, and many of the stories involve alcohol. The most recent came when Manziel failed to show up at the Browns' facilities for an injury treatment..."

This admittance makes fans think back to Skip Bayless' statements not to long ago.

Even though he received a lot of hate for it at the time, it seemed that Bayless was on the up and up. According to TMZ Sports, Skip was able to look through Manziel's hype:

"SPN star Skip Bayless unloaded on Johnny Manziel...[and he claimed he'd] spoken with several people close to the Browns QB and he is convinced Johnny is an alcoholic and a liar. Bayless made the comments on First Take -- telling Stephen A. Smith he's spoken with many people 'in and around the Cleveland Browns' organization and is convinced the 22-year-old has a serious drinking problem. Skip [said] Johnny has been lying to team executives, coaches and teammates..."
