Ohio State National Championship Victory Over Oregon Results in Buckeye Dance Party and Riots in Columbus

Being excited about sports and celebrating after your team wins is completely understandable. And, that is exactly what the Buckeyes did after their win over Oregon. They "got down" in the locker room in a dance off similar to the one they had after their Sugar Bowl Victory. Unfortunately, not all who celebrated Ohio's championship did so in a respectable or accepted manner. Reports are saying that police in riot gear had to intervene when the crowds in Columbus got out of control.

Ohio State was relentless from the moment they hit the field at the championship showdown, and they have impressed fans and critics all season. For many fans, it was satisfying to see the team make sure that a grand opportunity was not missed.

It seemed that every time fans thought Ohio was done, they just kept on plugging and scoring. The members of the offense, who looked like they had been playing together all their lives, delivered something that will be remembered in the history books.

In turn, the Buckeyes decided to show their joy in an extravagant manner. According to TMZ Sports, the players and coaches got down in a post-game dance party:

"First they carved up Oregon...then they cut a rug. The Ohio State Buckeyes football team was still so fired up after beating the Ducks in the National Championship game last night, they threw a locker room dance party...and everyone got down. Among the dancers, assistant defensive line coach Vince Oghobaase -- who busted out 'The Whip.'"

It is understanble that those who work hard and get what they deserve, party down in a glamorous way. However, there were those who went overboard with their celebrations. According to NBC News, police had to calm the rioting Ohio fans:

"Police in riot gear used tear gas to break up crowds in Columbus, Ohio, early Tuesday after Ohio State beat Oregon to win the college football championship. At least a dozen small fires were reported after thousands of people poured out of bars to celebrate, authorities said. As many as 8,000 people converged on the Ohio State football stadium, known as the Horseshoe, and several hundred forced their way inside, the school said. The crowd tore down a goalpost. The championship game was played outside Dallas."
