Pregnant Carrie Underwood's enormous baby bump got more attention than her performance of "Go Rest High on the Mountain" with country music legend Vince Gill during their Thursday night Grand Ole Opry tribute to Little Jimmy Dickens. According to all the latest gossip news updates, when the American Idol's CMA Awards collaborator, Braid Paisley, broke the news about the sex of Underwood's first child with professional hockey husband, Mike Fisher, the "Something in the Water" singer's own reps didn't know if it was a hoax or not.
Carrie Underwood fans that are just as excited about her pregnancy as her last album were treated to an eyeful last Thursday night during her tribute to the late great, Little Jimmy Dickens.
The way that US Weekly makes it sound, you would think that Carrie's belly practically poked Vince Gills' eye out during their post-performance hug:
"Underwood belted out "Go Rest High on That Mountain" alongside Vince Gill at the concert, which also served as a funeral for the comedic crooner.
"After the song, Underwood crossed the stage to hug Gill, turning to the side to put her fully blossomed bump on display."
When Carrie first unveiled her bourgeoning belly bulge at last year's Country Music Awards, her faithful co-host, Brad Paisley, got the honor of revealing the baby's gender to the world.
During a recent interview, Paisley admitted that the news of the child sex was such a secret at the time that Underwood's own reps didn't know what to make of the stunt when reporters started to call to confirm (via The Boot):
"Somehow it came up; it was like, 'We could reveal it on the show, if you're going to reveal it anyway.'
Then the funny part was, people didn't know if we were serious!
"They were texting her publicist if it was true, and they didn't know either!
"It was a great way to do it."
Who knows...maybe Carrie Underwood will even let the would-be country comedian stop in for cameo during the birth.
